Thorntons Reintroduces Swipe to Save Program

Offering “stackable” savings that can be combined with other rewards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --Thorntons Inc. is bringing additional value to customers with Swipe to Save, an exclusive perk of Refreshing Rewards, the convenience-store chain recently announced.

Swipe to Save is a fuel savings program that provides guests with more ways to save on fuel. Refreshing Rewards customers qualify for additional cents off on fuel when they purchase select products including fountain drinks, bottled beverages, candy, snacks and more. These savings are stackable and can be combined with other Refreshing Rewards savings.

This means that customers could potentially fill up their tanks for the lowest possible price of 1 cent per gallon, the company said.

When customers purchase the specified quantity of a Swipe to Save product, they will automatically receive additional cents off to use for their next fuel transaction.

Swipe to Save features 17 products including:

  • Buy one dispensed beverage (includes fountain, FizzFreez, coffee and cappuccino) and save 1 cents per gallon.
  • Buy one breakfast sandwich and save 3 cents per gallon.
  • Buy two 16-ounce Kickstart beverages and save 10 cents per gallon.
  • Buy two 14-ounce Muscle Milk beverages and save 10 cents per gallon.
  • Buy two 2.85-ounce bags of Jack Link’s jerky and save 10 cents per gallon.

The Refreshing Rewards loyalty program is free and provides exclusive deals and programs, automatic swipestakes entries and more.

Based in Louisville, Ky., Thorntons currently operates 183 gas stations and convenience stores that provide fresh foods, beverages and fuel in six states: Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida.
