TravelCenters of America Again Dominates Driver Satisfaction Survey

Operator also honored with ATA's Mike Russell "Good Stuff" Trucking Image Award

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded travel centers, is touting the results of the sixth annual "Voted Best" survey. The independent survey conducted by Overdrive magazine during September gathers driver feedback on truckstop services and amenities.

"Like last year, the 2012 survey results show a clear and growing preference by drivers for our Full-Service Advantage, which starts with our respect for them. It's great to see through these survey results in categories relating to employee friendliness, trustworthy staff, and understanding of truckers that our customers are feeling that respect," said Tom O'Brien, President and CEO of TravelCenters.

"The Petro Iron Skillet restaurants and TA Truck Service facilities again dominated their categories," he added. "As in past years, drivers have reported an overwhelming preference for TA and Petro when it comes to restrooms and showers, recognizing the care with which we attend to cleanliness. Additionally, many of our new services, like the TruckSmart mobile application, StayFit fitness rooms and new laundry facilities were top ranked in their categories, showing that our efforts to provide drivers more and better free amenities are in the right place."

In other company news, TravelCenters of America has received the American Trucking Associations' Mike Russell "Good Stuff" Trucking Image Award for generating positive awareness of the trucking industry's essential role in the nation's economy.

TravelCenters was honored for promoting health and wellness throughout the driver community and for promoting the trucking industry and professional truck driver images. TravelCenters has worked hard over the last several years to dedicate many of its programs to these initiatives. Specifically, TravelCenters is:

*Offering StayFit, the industry's only driver health and wellness program with better-for-you meal and snack options, free driver fitness rooms, walking trails, basketball courts, pet exercise areas and more.

*Supporting the Saint Christopher Truckers Development & Relief Fund (SCF). SCF assists ill or hospitalized drivers without health insurance with their expenses. TA and Petro locations have spearheaded fundraising efforts that have yielded more than $750,000 over the last three years.

*Actively participating in Truckers Against Trafficking, a grassroots organization promoting professional truck drivers as assistants in the fight against human trafficking along the nation's interstates.

*Supporting positive driver stories within its Road King trucking publication. Articles promoting driver health, charitable causes, highway safety and driver community citizenship are regular features of the publication.

"We are extremely honored that the ATA has recognized our efforts to promote all that is good about trucking and truck drivers," said Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters.

"Our company has a passion and deep respect for professional truck drivers and the job they perform. We have and will continue to promote the enormous positive impact that trucking and the drivers who work tirelessly within the industry have on our nation's economy," he added.

The Mike Russell "Good Stuff" Trucking Image Awards are named in honor of the late Mike Russell, a trucking industry supporter and former ATA vice president. This is the sixth year ATA has awarded carriers, suppliers and trucking organizations this important designation.
