Valero Corner Stores Team Up With the UTSA Roadrunners

"Official Convenience Store Sponsor" for the San Antonio college football team

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Valero Retail Holdings Inc. has announced that its Corner Store locations are the convenience store of choice for the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners' inaugural football season. During the upcoming season, Valero employees will be at all Roadrunners' home games giving free samples and cheering on the team.

The partnership between Valero Corner Stores at the Roadrunners is just one of many bonds between the university and Valero, who are neighbors along Valero Way. Both campuses share jogging paths where UTSA students and Valero employees [image-nocss] commit to their passion for running. UTSA students participate with Valero employees in the numerous Valero volunteer events throughout the San Antonio area.

And Valero also plans on opening its flagship Corner Store on UTSA Boulevard in 2012.

"Valero is proud to show support for UTSA and its new football team," said Hal Adams, Valero's vice president of retail merchandising. "Valero Corner Stores are doing our part by signing up to sponsor the team."

In addition to providing financial support of the program, Valero will hand out free Fresh Choices, the company's signature brand products, to UTSA fans at all home games. With the projected attendance at each home game, the company estimates it will give fans a quarter of a million opportunities to try Fresh Choices.

Each UTSA football home game will bring several surprises to the attending fans. "Make sure you are present for the game on September 10," Adams recommended. "Fans will get a special gift as they leave the game which will benefit them for all of the 2011 inaugural UTSA football season."

San Antonio, Texas-based Valero, through its subsidiaries, is an international manufacturer and marketer of transportation fuels, other petrochemical products and power.
