Wilson Farms Supports Food Banks

Chain participating in Check Out Hunger fundraiser

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Wilson Farms Inc. said that it will once again team up with other local retailers to support the Food Banks of Western & Central New York in the Check Out Hunger campaign; 196 Wilson Farms, Wilson Farms Xpress and Sugar Creek convenience stores across New York State will accept $2, $3, and $5 donations from Sunday, January 20 through Saturday, February 23.

Check Out Hunger provides a quick an easy way for shoppers to help feed the needy in the community. Customers can have cashiers add their donation to their bill when directly at checkout with all proceeds going directly [image-nocss] to the food bank organization. A $2 donation will provide 11 meals to individuals depending on the food bank; $3 provides 16.5 meals and $5 provides 27.5 meals.

"Over the past two years, Wilson Farms has been able to raise $75,000 for the Food Banks of Western & Central New York," said Wilson Farms President and CEO, Paul Nanula. "We are excited to be a part of this campaign again in 2008 and are proud to give our customers the ability to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors."

Last year, statewide efforts helped raise close to $600,000 for Check Out Hunger. Wilson Farms is honored to join nine other local retailers also supporting the program to raise not only funding for the food banks, but also awareness of hunger in our community.

Wilson Farms Neighborhood Food Stores currently operates 198 c-store and gas station locations across the state of New York.
