TOKYO -- The latest Frito Lay snack flavor creating a buzz in Japan is limited-edition Mountain Dew Cheetos, according to a report by Brand Eating. The product is not available in the United States.
The snacks are powdered with a fizzy Mountain Dew-flavored powder, it said. This is not the first Mountain Dew-flavored snack put out by Frito Lay, said the report. In 2008, it came out with a mystery flavor of Doritos chip in the United States that turned out to be Mountain Dew flavor.
"As a novelty snack, or perhaps something to share with a few friends rather than devour alone, Mountain Dew corn chips aren't all that bad," said a review posted on Asian popular culture website RocketNews24.com. "They certainly won't win any awards for redefining flavor any time soon, but they do exactly what they say on the packet by tasting impressively similar to the drink of the same name."
