Arctic Zero Introduces Dairy-Free Ice Cream

All nine flavors made with faba bean protein

SAN DIEGO – Low-calorie dessert brand Arctic Zero has launched a new line of dairy-free ice cream, available to retailers nationwide this fall.

The creamy treat comes in nine flavors: Chocolate Peanut Butter, Salted Caramel, Cookie Shake, Purely Chocolate, Cake Batter, Brownie Blast, Cookie Dough Chunk, Hint of Mint and Cherry Chocolate Chunk. Each flavor comes in 16-ounce pints and contains 70 to 90 calories and a maximum of 1.5 grams of fat per serving. The ice cream is sweetened with organic cane sugar and monk fruit.

This marks Arctic Zero’s second product launch of 2018. In March, the brand debuted its Arctic Zero Light Ice Cream, a low-calorie ice cream made with milk and cream and sweetened with organic cane sugar.

"We created the original Arctic Zero so that people with restrictions like lactose intolerance, low-sugar and low-calorie diets could enjoy a delicious frozen dessert without junk ingredients like erythritol and other sugar alcohols," said Amit Pandhi, CEO of Arctic Zero. "True to our founding promise, our new plant-based Arctic Zero nondairy contains the cleanest premium ingredients we could source including faba bean protein. We're confident our longtime fans also are going to love the change. Arctic Zero nondairy pints have a much stronger, richer flavor that really wows and a creamier texture than ever."

About 39% of Americans look to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diets, according to Arctic Zero. This sparked the brand’s nondairy ice cream concept, which features faba bean protein as a main ingredient.

"In our effort to get the texture and rich flavor of traditional ice cream, we experimented with dozens of different core ingredients for our nondairy pints," said Greg Holtman, founder and chief flavor innovator for Arctic Zero. "Ultimately, the faba bean emerged as the perfect candidate for its luxurious mouthfeel and a slightly sweet flavor with no aftertaste to interfere with all of our delicious mix-ins.”

San Diego-based Arctic Zero produces creamy and chunky ice cream pints and dipped ice cream bars without lactose, sugar alcohols, gluten or artificial ingredients. Its products are low-calorie, low-glycemic, kosher and Non-GMO Project verified.
