Blast Adds DSD Division

Brand management company expands offering after tests with Deep River Snacks

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Blast! Brand Management Inc., a full-service brand management company, has added a direct-store delivery (DSD) service distribution division to provide enhanced services to its broad array of customers and others seeking to break into the market. Blast! Brand Management currently offers food and beverage brand sales, marketing and merchandising solutions to customers throughout the southeastern United States.

The new DSD distribution division began offering its services to clients on July 1, 2013.

"With the recent changes to the DSD landscape in southeast Florida, there is a tremendous void to be filled in one of the most influential, sought after markets in the country and that's exactly what the Blast! Brand Management DSD Division is designed to do," said Richard Moreland, founder and president of Blast.

"We have been road testing the DSD concept over the last 12 months primarily with our customer Deep River Snacks and have found that the market is once again in need of a competent DSD option offering consistent service and solid product offerings that both retailers and suppliers can depend on. We are going to provide that option as an integral part of our management services program, essentially making us a one-stop shop for brands wanting to enter southeast Florida," Moreland said.

"A major part of our strategy was to penetrate the south Florida market and we needed a strong partner who knew the region to do that for us. We found that partner in Blast! Brand Management," said Jim Goldberg, CEO of Deep River Snacks. "Rich and his team have not only helped our products get to market, but has managed our retailer relationships, merchandising and all of our tastings and special event efforts in the region."

Since 2009, Blasthas worked with major national and regional brands including Jones Soda, Adina, Venga/Beverage Innovations, United Spirits, Deep River Snacks and the Rocky Mountain Popcorn Co. to manage the introductions, development and growth of their various products to such retailers as Publix Supermarkets, Walgreens, Crown Wine and Spirits, Western Beef, Doris' Gourmet Markets and hundreds of independent retailers throughout the region.
