Blue Bunny Introduces On-the-Go Sundae Line

New products come in 8 different flavors

LE MARS, Iowa -- Dessert fans are in for a treat this spring. Blue Bunny Ice Cream has launched its new Load'd Sundae line in eight flavors. The 8.5-ounce ice-cream cups come filled with cookies, nuts, chocolate bits and Blue Bunny's signature candy B's. Meant for on-the-go consumers looking to indulge at home, these treats will debut at retailers nationwide in April for a suggested retail price of $2.99.

"We created Load'd Sundaes to give people a delicious ice-cream sundae experience they can grab and go or enjoy from the comfort of their own home,” said Rachel Lukoff, senior brand manager for Blue Bunny.

Blue Bunny’s Load'd Sundaes flavors are Mint Chocolate Chunk, Salted Caramel Pecan, Peanut Butter Bunny, Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Brownie Bomb, Cookie Dough Co., Cookie Crunch ‘N Fudge and Blue Bunny’s signature flavor, Bunny Tracks—vanilla ice cream with a fudge crackle swirl, chocolate-coated peanuts and peanut butter bunnies, topped with a caramel sauce.

Although the Load’d Sundae launch is Blue Bunny’s first initiative of 2018, the company said it will reveal more ice-cream announcements later this spring. Blue Bunny was a top-10 selling ice cream brand in 2017, earning more than $15.7 million in c-store sales alone—nearly a 1% increase from 2016—according to IRI data.

Blue Bunny is owned by Le Mars, Iowa-based manufacturer Wells Enterprises. Available at retailers nationwide, Blue Bunny’s more than 75 ice-cream flavors range from classics such as Brownie Sundae, Vanilla and Banana Split to more outside-the-box options such as Black Walnut, Cherrific Cheesecake and Chocopolitan.
