Dunkin’ Donuts Launches St. Patrick’s Day Fan Competition

Grand prize includes chance to create doughnuts with brand’s culinary team

CANTON, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts is inviting fans to share their St. Patrick’s Day celebrations via social media for the chance to win prizes.

By using the hashtags #DDLuckyDozen and #Sweepstakes on Twitter and Instagram, contestants enter to win a grand-prize trip to the Dunkin' Donuts headquarters in Boston to create their own doughnuts in the Dunkin' Test Kitchen. Dunkin’ Donuts will also select 12 additional winners to receive a year’s worth of doughnuts. Contestants must be at least 18 years old, and they have until March 17 to enter.

Among other spring promotions, the quick-service restaurant chain is also offering its Girl Scout Cookie-inspired coffee flavors—including Thin Mint—through May, and it recently released the Mint Brownie Donut. That, along with the Thin Mints Frozen Chocolate—the perennial Girl Scout flavor merged with Dunkin’ Donut’s Frozen Chocolate beverage—are among the highlighted menu items for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Various Dunkin' Donuts locations may also offer additional doughnut concoctions topped with four-leaf clovers or green frosting through this weekend.

The holiday initiatives continue a busy year for Dunkin’ Donuts, which is rebranding as a “beverage-first, on-the-go brand.” Earlier this year, the chain launched its DD prototype, a new store design meant to enhance its drive-thru service for loyalty-program members ordering through the brand’s app.

Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin’ Donuts is a market leader in the coffee, doughnut, bagel and muffin categories. Founded in 1950, the company has more than 12,000 restaurants in 44 countries worldwide. It is part of the Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc. family of companies.
