Hostess Brands Revamps Suzy Q’s

New recipe includes a nod to the original consumer favorite

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Hostess fans have spoken: They love their Suzy Q’s. And as of Feb. 13, the company has relaunched the specialty cakes with a new recipe.

The revamped creme-filled chocolate cakes are a nod to the original 1961 version in both flavor and design, notably seen on their rounded edges. These new cakes also have 50% more creme and 50% more cake, as well as 40 fewer calories than the original. Suzy Q’s are now available in six-count multipacks and single-serve twin packs at retailers nationwide.

“Suzy Q’s fans are among our most passionate consumers, and they have spoken loud and clear,” said Burke Raine, Hostess Brands’ chief marketing officer. “We heard their feedback on social media and through our consumer affairs group, and have responded with an even better snack cake that measures up to their expectations.”

Hostess has already received consumer feedback on the relaunch, and one fan from Florida even said she is “single-handedly emptying the store shelves.”
