Jelly Belly Offering Bulk Vend Machine

Allows consumers to select flavors

FAIRFIELD, Calif. -- The new Jelly Belly Bulk Vend Machine brings the color and flavor of the Jelly Belly experience and interactive quality of the signature Jelly Belly jelly bean in-store bulk displays found in candy stores across the nation to customers who are on the go.

This machine offers a way for customers to choose their favorite flavors through the bulk mixes. From the popular 49 Flavor Mix to the Citrus Mix, customers can create their own individual cup of Jelly Belly beans from the five 25-pound bulk bins that can be viewed inside the machine through a tamper-proof window. A robot arm viewed through the window dispenses the beans into a cup, providing entertainment for the customer and driving impulse purchases.

The Jelly Belly Bulk Vend Machine includes a full payment system that accepts credit cards and cash with $2, $4, and $6 purchase points for 2.5-oz., 5-oz., or 7-oz. options to match Jelly Belly suggested retail prices.

The Jelly Belly Bulk Vend Machine is environmentally friendly with low energy consumptions and LED lighting. The illuminated interior displays the Jelly Belly beans and draws customers to the machine.

In celebration of the new Jelly Belly Bulk Vend Machine, retailers will receive 300 pounds of Jelly Belly beans free when they purchase one, said the company.

In other company news, on the heels of the Android Jelly Belly Jar live wallpaper, Jelly Belly Candy Co. has announced a free mobile app for iPhone loaded with Jelly Belly Recipes, tips and fun facts.

Consumers can shake the phone to have the wheels turn flavors into one of 67 different combinations such as "2 Blueberry +1 Buttered Popcorn = Blueberry Muffin."

Users can submit their own recipe ideas directly to Jelly Belly from the app, or customize the app to only show combinations made from their favorite flavors or flavors they find in a candy store.

The Jelly Belly Recipe Shaker app is available free on the App Store on iTunes and the company website www.JellyBelly.com. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devises with iOS 4.0 or later.

"Jelly Belly fans love our Jelly Belly recipes," said Rob Swaigen, vice president of marketing for Jelly Belly Candy Company. "Now, fans can combine flavors to create recipes right on their mobile devices."

This is not Jelly Belly's first venture into mobile apps. The company released a free live wallpaper app for Android devices earlier this year. The Jelly Belly Jelly Bean Jar wallpaper has generated more than one million downloads on Google Play, the Fairfield, Calif.-based candy company said.
