Kraft Creates Candy Corn Oreo Cookies for Halloween

Brand continuing "Daily Twist" campaign featuring pop-culture illustrations

NORTHFIELD, Ill. -- Kraft Foods Inc. is rolling out Candy Corn Oreo cookies for Halloween. They will be available nationwide exclusively at Target stores for a limited time beginning this week, through October 31.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price is $3.59 per package.

Oreo is one of Kraft's biggest global snack brands. The Northfield, Ill., company adapts the black-and-white cookie for different markets - such as fruity flavors in China - and produces limited-edition versions. This year, for example, it sold Birthday Cake Oreos to celebrate the brand's 100th anniversary

The brand also recently began the Oreo "Daily Twist" campaign, illustrating "the moments that are making history today through the eyes of Oreo."

The campaign, which creates a new digital advertisement in real-time every day that reflects the latest happenings, pop culture news, milestones or celebrations taking place in the world. The artwork for each day's ad features unique creative using images of the iconic cookie and perhaps the usual Oreo "sidekick"--a glass of milk. Fans can find the Daily Twists, or submit a topic that they think should inspire a future Daily Twist, on Facebook.com/OREO or OREO.com/DailyTwist.

"Oreo is all about helping people rediscover the carefree innocence of childhood," said Cindy Chen, director of marketing for Oreo at Kraft Foods. "The Daily Twist brings out the kid in all of us, no matter what your age, by giving you the chance to look at the world in a playful, more imaginative way."

Daily Twists from the first few months of the campaign have illustrated topical news of national interest each day, including pride parades happening in major cities around the nation, a celebration of Bastille Day and news of the Mars Rover landing on the Red Planet. The campaign kicked off on June 25 and will end October 2. The Daily Twist marketing partners include DraftFCB (advertising), 360i (digital marketing), Weber Shandwick (public relations) and Mediavest (media).
