Andre Agassi rolls out Box Budd!es snacks to benefit education foundation

NEW YORK -- In an effort to help empower kids to make better choices and learn about the importance of giving, the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education has partnered with V20 Foods to create Andre Agassi's Box Budd!es, a line of kid-friendly snacks that will be sold in grocery stores nationwide.

This new line of single-serve applesauce, granola bars and milk are a intended to be a lunchbox companion, and 100% of the proceeds will go back to the foundation, which is dedicated to transforming public education.

"The idea of kids and parents helping other kids resonated with all of us," Agassi, chairman and founder of the foundation, said. "We created Andre Agassi's Box Budd!es to bring that idea to life by creating fun, good-tasting, wholesome after-school and lunchbox snacks."

Andre Agassi's Box Budd!es provide parents and kids with new options for the snacks they love, while also helping other kids. The no-sugar-added applesauce is available in four varieties, including unsweetened apple, strawberry apple, peachy apple and apple cinnamon. The single-serve, shelf-stable milk is available in low fat, vanilla or chocolate and is sold individually. There are two varieties of the granola bars--chocolate chip and chocolate.

"V20 Foods is proud to team up with the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education to produce Box Budd!es," said Vic Ventimiglia, V20 Foods' president and CEO. "Our partnership is imperative to not just provide another snack option for families, but allow an opportunity for kids to learn about the many ways they can help other kids, even in the grocery store."

Box Budd!es snacks are on store shelves now in many supermarkets nationwide, including Albertson's, Jewel, Acme, Farm Fresh and Cub Stores.

The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education seeks to transform public education in two ways. Through its signature project, the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, the Foundation works to provide underserved children in Las Vegas with a first-class K-12 education to prepare them for excellence in college and beyond. Through state and national advocacy, the Foundation strives to increase investment in, and accountability for, public schools.

V20 Foods has been providing private-label meal kits for more than five years to some of the largest retail grocery and convenience store chains in the United States. Its mission is to help customers put their prestigious brand on products that either meet or in most cases, beat the national brands in terms of quality and nutrition, for 10% to 20% less cost, it said. In addition to private labeling, V20 Foods has been able to use their manufacturing techniques to parlay into meal kit development for disaster relief. V20 said it can respond in a day's notice and begin producing nutritious meals for all of those negatively affected by these unforeseen and typically devastating occurrences. Its flameless ration heater has also allowed it to develop government-approved self-heating breakfast entrees to all branches of the U.S. military.
