Mars Gives Up the Ghost for Halloween 2014

Twix Ghost Singles to scare up autumnal holiday sales

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- To excite consumers and drive sales for retailers, Mars Chocolate North America is investing in a "massive" Halloween media campaign, it said. The comprehensive program features television advertising, high-value freestanding inserts (FSIs), print and digital advertising and Halloween-themed displays.

New items such as Twix Brand Ghost Singles join returning favorites, including hallmark flavors of the season such as M&M's Brand White Chocolate Candy Corn and Milky Way Brand Caramel Apple Minis. The array of harvest-colored M&M's Brand Candies make fall decorating fun and provide a greater on-shelf presence for retailers.

Sales of variety bags filled with Mars brands continue to rise, the company said, providing consumers with variety and convenience. Over the last three years, sales of Mars variety bags have shown tremendous growth, it said.

McLean, Va.-based Mars has net sales of more than $33 billion, six business segments including Chocolate, Wrigley, Food, Drinks, Petcare and Symbioscience.
