Mighty Spark Food Debuts New Meat Snacks

Company formerly known as Man Cave Craft Eats has launched nearly 50 fresh items

MINNEAPOLIS -- Meat-snack maker Mighty Spark Food Co. has debuted nearly 50 new items in retail locations nationwide. Its handcrafted, small-batch meat products launched in 2013 and are now available in the fresh or frozen meat sections at more than 4,000 stores in the country.

The new offerings span chicken, turkey, pork and beef protein options. One, the Mighty Spark Chicken Snack Sticks, comes in six flavors: Black Bean Chipotle, Sea Salt and Pink Peppercorn, BBQ-Seasoned Sweet Potato, Honey and Jalapeno, Cranberry and Ginger, and Blueberry and Kale. These gluten- and antibiotic-free snack sticks contain between 45 to 60 calories. They are made with natural ingredients and are free of nitrates, nitrites and other added hormones, the company said.

Also, through its Bite Back Hunger program, which launched last year, the company donates a meal to charity for every package purchased. In total, Mighty Spark provided more than 1.1 million meals to charity in 2017 and foresees to give an additional 2 million through 2018. The company also donates to nonprofit partners Kids Against Hunger and Children’s Hunger Fund.

"Our focus is on providing consumers and those in need with remarkable experiences from the moment consumers see our unique packaging on the shelf, from the interactions with our team at farmers markets or by the meals we donate through our Bite Back Hunger program," said Nick Beste, CEO and chief instigator for Mighty Spark Food. "The Mighty Spark team has been working tirelessly to refine our small-batch recipes for nearly 50 new items, providing healthy products that taste good.”

Minneapolis-based Mighty Spark Food Co. specializes in meat-based snacks. Its products include various flavors of Turkey Patties, Ground Beef, Breakfast Sausages, Bratwurst, Chicken Sticks, Chicken Links and Hot Dogs. The company—previously known as Man Cave Craft Eats—was founded in 2010 by then college student Nick Beste running a stand at the Minneapolis Farmers Market.
