Rold Gold Serves Up Flamin’ Hot Flavor

New flavor part of 2-year partnership with National Hockey League

PLANO, Texas -- Frito-Lay's Rold Gold pretzel brand debuted its Flamin' Hot Thin Crisps through a multiyear partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL).

The spicy snack extends Rold Gold's Thin Crisps line, which also includes Buffalo Wing, Garlic Parmesan and Honey Dijon flavors. One serving of the crispy snack contains 120 calories, 2 grams of fat and 2 grams of protein. Rold Gold Flamin' Hot Thin Crisps are available at U.S. convenience stores and other retailers in 8.75-ounce bags for a suggest retail price of $3.29.

Frito-Lay borrows the Flamin' Hot flavor from it popular Flamin' Hot Cheetos snack.

"Flamin' Hot is a longtime fan favorite; it's become a part of pop culture in many ways, so we're thrilled to bring it to Rold Gold," said Jeannie Cho, vice president of marketing for Frito-Lay North America. "Many of our Rold Gold fans are also hockey fans, so a partnership with the NHL made perfect sense to bring our brands and fans together."

Per the partnership, Rold Gold will advertise in arenas during NHL games, engage fans at NHL events and offer various prizes. And the NHL shield logo will make its way onto Rold Gold’s packaging.

The Rold Gold pretzel brand is part of PepsiCo's Plano, Texas-based Frito-Lay division. Other Rold Gold products besides the Thin Crisps include Original, Cheddar and Honey Mustard Tiny Twists, Honey Wheat Braided pretzels, pretzel rods, pretzel sticks and pretzel thins. PepsiCo is based in Purchase, N.Y.
