Royal Buying Group Honors 2013 Vendors of Year

Also announces New Product Display winners

LISLE, Ill. -- Royal Buying Group Inc. (RBG) announced the 2013 Vendors of the Year Awards at the 2014 Independent C-Store Expo on March 13. RBG gave this award to three vendors who provided outstanding programing and services to its network of retailers through new product innovation, core program information and excellent service.

This year's recipients: Vinnie K. Bahl, Joe & Ross Ice Cream; Daniel P. Fullem, Altria Group Distribution Co.; and Sammie G. Van Cleave, Perfetti Van Melle.

In addition to the Independent C-Store Expo Trade Show exhibitors, RBG also featured a New Product Display in which vendors can display and showcase the top new products. Independent retailers had the chance to view these new products and vote for their favorite product. The companies that participated in this event included American Licorice, Bazooka, Forte, General Mills, HP Hood, Mobisoft, Oberto, Perfetti Van Melle, Prairie City, State Street Snacks and Tell Industries.

The following companies won awards:

  • First Place: General Mills, for Chex Chips, Mini Snickerdoodle Cookies, Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies.
  • Second Place: Bazooka, for Ring Pop Gummies, Bubblegum.
  • Third Place: Prairie City, for Tina's Traditions assorted bakery items.

Lisle, Ill.-based RBG is a national organization dedicated to maximizing sales and profitability of convenience stores, petroleum locations and other retail channels. RBG represents more than 6,500 locations nationwide.
