Snacktops Launches First Commercial Line of Food, Beverage Carriers

Pilot program at Yankee Stadium shows boost in sales of combo meals

CARLSBAD, Calif.-- When you sell combo meals, it's a good idea to offer customers a sturdy container to carry those snacks, beverages and hot foods.

To that end, Snacktops has launched its first commercial product line of interlocking food and beverage containers that competes with paper-based containers and allows on-the-go consumers to carry more in their hands when they walk out of the store.

Most canned, bottled and fountain beverages fit in the containers, which Snacktops said are cost-competitive to paper-based packaging and 100% recyclable.

The product launch follows a 10-game test that Snacktops conducted with Yankee Stadium. The company said the test resulted in 65% of customers stating they were influenced to purchase a combo meal as a result of the Snacktops' packaging.

Jeff Engel, president and CEO of Snacktops Inc., said pilot programs have proven an increase in revenue and profits for vendors and an enhanced customer experience. "It's truly a win-win situation for everyone," he said.

Snacktops, founded in 2012 and based in Carlsbad, Calif., offers more then 30 packaging solutions, including a variety of food and snack containers with special lids that snap onto a range of existing branded beverage cups suited for draft beer, coffee, canned, bottled and fountain drinks.
