Square Donuts Debut at Thorntons

Stores in Indianapolis add the popular Indiana sweet treat

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- Thorntons has partnered with Square Donuts to sell its products in stores in Indianapolis.

The doughnuts became available at Thorntons this December.

Square Donuts Inc., based in Bloomington, Ind., has been selling the square-shaped doughnuts since 1967. The doughnuts were also voted the No. 1 yeast doughnut in Indianapolis during Donut Day Indy, a contest sponsored by radio station WIBC.

Square DonutsThe doughnuts are made and delivered daily to the Thorntons stores in Indianapolis and sell for 99 cents. Varieties include glazed, chocolate frosted and sprinkle, as well as flavors such as peanut butter and jelly and chocolate frosted bavarian cream.

Thorntons, based in Louisville, Ky., operates 183 stores in six states: Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida.
