What Name Did Name Pickers Pick for New Snickers Bar?

Choices also included Nuts, Go Nuts, #MoreNuts, Nuts Galore

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- For the first time, Mars' Snickers brand offered consumers the chance to select the name of a new product through an exclusive vote on the brand's Facebook page. Mars Chocolate North America has announced the fans' choice--Snickers Xtreme.

The moniker is appropriate for a new product with an "extreme" blend of ingredients. Snickers Xtreme includes a single layer of crunchy roasted peanuts and smooth caramel, blended and enrobed in milk chocolate.

"A Snickers Bar packed with this much peanuts and caramel is sure to be a fan favorite, which is why we let them have the final say in how to name it," said Roy Benin, chief consumer officer for Mars Chocolate North America. "We were confident fans would choose a name that's as satisfying as the bar itself, and they did."

Consumers selected the name from a list of five options: Snickers Xtreme, Snickers Go Nuts, Snickers #MoreNuts, Snickers Nuts Galore and Snickers Nuts.

[Editor's Note: I would have picked #MoreNuts, just for the hashtag.]

The new Snickers Xtreme bar will be available at retailers nationwide in 2015 in a "2 to Go" format (3.56 oz.) intended for sharing or eating some now and saving the rest for later.
