NEW YORK -- Nat Sherman has appointed 15-year company veteran Jeff Hansen to the role of national account director, said Matt Spillane, vice president of national sales for Nat Sherman Inc. In his new role, Hansen will join Vic Koons, national account director, to provide an increased focus on new business development in the national chain store trade class.
Hansen's focus will be on the western United States, specifically the Rocky Mountains to California. Key accounts, including Chevron, Smoker Friendly, Core-Mark, Circle K (Arizona) and Costco Business Centers, will fall under his purview.
"Jeff is a creative thinker who has a history of driving sales by connecting with his customers to provide category solutions," said Spillane. "He is a strong leader, and we look forward to his successful collaboration with our largest customers."
Hansen joined the company in 2000 as a regional sales manager for the West Coast region. Presented with the challenge of expanding Nat Sherman's national footprint to the West Coast, he thrived in a very competitive market and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming regional sales director in 2004.
With the growth of the Nat Sherman cigarette division, Hansen has proven to be an integral part of the continued success, it said. During his tenure, he developed and managed a team of five, while adding several new territories to his roster.
"I couldn't be more excited for Jeff, who has consistently demonstrated his passion and love for our company and products," said Larry Sherman, executive vice president of Nat Sherman International. "I know he is going to be successful in sharing our story with a new audience."
Founded by Nat Sherman in 1930 and family-guided for three generations, the New York City-based company sells fine cigarettes are sold around the world, while Nat Sherman premium cigars are available at certified retail tobacconists in the United States.
