NATO Show 2013 Reveals Schedule, Speaker Lineup

Morris, Deyton, Herzog, Cohen, McKinney to speak at premier tobacco retailer event

MINNEAPOLIS -- NATO announces the full schedule of speakers and sessions for its 12th Anniversary & Trade Show set for April 22-24, 2013, at the Paris, Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas.

Political consultant and best-selling author Dick Morris will keynote the 2013 NATO Show, speaking on the importance of government supporting American businesses. With the NATO Show being just five months after the 2012 election, attendees will be interested to hear Morris' predictions of how Election Day will affect not only their businesses, but the legislative and regulatory environment as well.

NATO is also pleased to host Lawrence Deyton, M.D. M.S.P.H., director for the Center for Tobacco Products, Food & Drug Administration in a moderated discussion with NATO executive director and legal counsel Thomas Briant. In Deyton's second appearance on the NATO stage, he continues his quest to provide clarity on existing tobacco regulations, regulations still in consideration and how retailers can best prepare themselves.

In keeping with the political trend, members will also hear from NATO's professional grassroots legislative advocates, Jackie Cohen and Tim McKinney.

"NATO members will gain a key understanding of the significant work our legislative advocates are doing on the local, state and federal levels," said NATO president Andy Kerstein. "This session will highlight why it is critical for every retailer, manufacturer, and wholesaler to become involved in the political process."

Other session topics include what can be learned from those who have successfully merged the tobacco outlet and convenience channel; tenets of successful tobacco outlets; demystifying electronic cigarettes; and tobacco trends and insights with NATO Show veteran Bonnie Herzog, tobacco analyst at Wells Fargo Securities LLC, New York.

In addition to the 2013 packed session lineup, NATO will launch a brand new initiative, designed to encourage connections between attendees and those in the community.

NATO's 12th Anniversary & Trade Show is the premier tobacco-industry show for retailers, manufacturers and distributors. In addition to the educational sessions, the trade show boasts the industry's largest assortment of tobacco products as well as outstanding networking and buying opportunities. Proceeds from the show go to support NATO's legislative efforts to help the industry.
