The Pantry to Stock Metro Seven E-Cigarette

Nicotek launching product in more than 3,500 total retail locations in May

CARY, N.C. -- The Pantry Inc. is adding Metro Seven, Nicotek LLC's just-launched "one-time-use" electronic cigarette. Metro Seven is scheduled to launch this May into more than 3,500 total retail locations.

Retailers will sell it at the manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) of $7.99. This new product will deliver up to 300 puffs to the smoker--an equivalent of about two packs of cigarettes--the company said.

The length and width of Metro Seven are that of a standard "king" cigarette, and it comes as a one-piece unit that requires no assembly. Nicotek said it is one of the most realistic e-cigarettes because it most closely resembles and feels like a traditional tobacco cigarette.

"E-cigs are constantly evolving. This new item from Metro will allow us to offer our guests a more natural smoking experience through an e-cig that is about the same size as a traditional cigarette. Consumers are shopping with their wallets in today's economy, and I feel Metro Seven provides the consumer with an option they have been looking for," said Chris Colon, category development manager for The Pantry.

"Having partners like The Pantry allows us to blitz the market with new items, like Seven, to offer the consumer an alternative to traditional tobacco smoking. This helps increase our distribution channels, making a new product immediately successful. We are excited about the launch of Seven to complement our core Metro program, and feel that this is a game-changer in the electronic cigarette industry," said John Wiesehan III, vice president of sales for Wheat Ridge, Colo.-based Nicotek.

The launch of Metro Seven also brings with it new point-of-purchase (POP) displays.

Nicotek is always interested in expanding its distribution and encourages all retailers and distribution centers to contact the Nicotek sales team about bringing Metro Seven into their stores today!
