TruAge CEO and NACS Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Stephanie Sikorski has joined the CSP C-Store Cannabis Board.

The board is dedicated to advocating for THC regulations that permit sales in convenience stores while also educating suppliers, retailers, customers and other stakeholders on the evolving cannabis landscape and business opportunities.

Sikorski oversees the advancement and growth of industry-wide initiatives across the National Association of Convenience Stores, Alexandria, Virginia. She also leads TruAge, a mission-driven, non-profit organization developed by NACS that creates a more compliant marketplace for age-restricted products through innovative digital age-verification solutions.

“I’m excited to join the CSP C-Store Cannabis Board to share the lessons we’ve learned through TruAge and help advance solutions that protect consumers, prevent youth access, support retailers and create a smarter regulatory environment,” Sikorski said. “As cannabis and other new age-restricted products enter the marketplace, the convenience channel needs to keep leading the nation in responsible retailing.”

Melissa Vonder Haar, managing director of TradeWorks at iSEE Store Innovations, is the inaugural chair of the CSP C-Store Cannabis Board. See a full list of board members, industry advisors and special advisors here.

“The convenience channel continues to lead the way with state-of-the-art age verification practices and technology,” Vonder Haar said. “The investment NACS has made in TruAge is the latest ground-breaking technology in this area and is helping public perception catch-up with the reality of the convenience channel’s dedication to doing business the right way. I’m thrilled that Stephanie and the TruAge team will bring their expertise and commitment to the CSP C-Store Cannabis Board to help amplify the industry’s role as we work toward smarter, more constructive cannabis regulation at both the state and federal level.”
