7-Eleven Growing in Hawaii

Mid Pac Petroleum to supply fuel to three new sites

HONOLULU -- Seven-Eleven Hawaii Inc., which has 53 convenience stores across Hawaii, plans to open three more between now and next spring, said Pacific Business News.

General Manager Glenn Nagatori said that the first, to open, before the end of the year, will be on the Makiki site of the former Wisteria restaurant.

That facility, he said, will be a new c-store and gas station that will operate under the Union 76 brand.

In the first quarter of next year, the company intends to open two more on the former [image-nocss] Union 76 site at Niu Valley Shopping Center and another existing Union 76 site.

Seven-Eleven Hawaii will be entering into a gasoline arrangement with Mid Pac Petroleum LLC, a subsidiary of K-1 Ventures Ltd., Singapore, to supply the gasoline at these three new sites.

"We are excited that our plans for future growth include these new locations," Nagatori told the newspaper. "We are looking to expand our store operation throughout the state to bring convenience, fresh products and good customer service into the various communities."

Seven-Eleven Hawaii was formed in December 1989 as a subsidiary of Seven-Eleven Japan Co. Ltd., Tokyo. Located in the Hawaiian Islands, the company has 53 convenience stores: 44 on Oahu, two on Kauai, two on Maui and five on Hawaii (Big Island). All are open 24 hours a day. Of the stores on Oahu, 30 sell gasoline. Beer and wine are sold at 51 of the stores. Presently, the company has 795 employees, according to the company's website.
