DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc. reported total July 2005 sales results of $1,236.7 million, an increase of 11.7% over July 2004 sales of $1,107.3 million. Total merchandise sales for July 2005 were $783.1 million, an increase of 7.0% over the July 2004 total of $732.2 million. U.S. same-store merchandise sales for July 2005 increased 5.9%, on top of a 4.2% increase in July 2004.
Gasoline sales for July 2005 were $453.6 million, a 20.9% increase compared to $375.1 million in the prior-year period. Average gallons sold per store increased 0.9% in July 2005, [image-nocss] compared to an increase of 3.6% in July 2004. The average retail price of a gallon of gasoline for July 2005 was $2.33, compared to $1.94 in July 2004.
The results below compare year-to-date results through July 2005 to the same period last year:
U.S. same-store merchandise sales have grown 5.0%, on top of 6.2% for 2004.
Merchandise sales total $4,812.4 million, an increase of 5.6%.
Gasoline sales total $2,773.8 million, an increase of 15.8%.
Average gallons sold per store have increased 0.8%, on top of 5.9% for 2004.
The average retail price of a gallon of gasoline is $2.13, compared to $1.84 in 2004.
