7-Eleven has acquired 15 gas stations and convenience stores from Short Line Express Market.
Henderson, Nevada-based Short Line Express owner Duane Shields confirmed the news with CSP Wednesday.
The facilities are in the Las Vegas area and offer Chevron-branded fuel and California-based Thrifty Ice Cream, Shields said, adding that a "couple of the stores have Krispy Krunchy Chicken."
Short Line Express Market was established in 1994 and will maintain two sites in the Las Vegas area, which will continue to offer 76-branded fuel, Shields said. He told CSP it was the right time for the shift, citing family reasons and the changing markets.
"In the environment today, being a smaller operator is bit more challenging," he said. "But I have always enjoyed the c-store business."
Shields told CSP that Dennis Ruben at NRC Realty & Capital Advisors, LLC, conducted the transaction, which was completed in December. He said the actual changeover of the stores was finished two weeks ago.
“Over the last two months, we’ve had the pleasure to convert 15 stores into new 7-Eleven stores within the Las Vegas market!,” Gabriel Hernandez, store implementation specialist at 7-Eleven, posted on his LinkedIn page.

CSP reached out to 7-Eleven for comment but did not receive a reply by press time.
