Dallas-based Berkley’s Market is opening its newest location this fall in Dallas’ Uptown neighborhood at 2822 McKinney Ave., which previously served as a Foxtrot Cafe and Market.

Chicago-based Foxtrot closed unexpectedly in April under former parent company Outfox Hospitality. It has since been revived by its co-founders and reopened its first location on Sept. 5 at 23 W. Maple in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.

Berkley’s Market new 4,100-square-foot location will feature gourmet goods, prepared foods, specialty coffee and beer and wine.

It will also serve as a “test kitchen,” allowing the retailer's team to experiment with new prepared food offerings, Berkley’s Market said.

Berkley’s Market will also offer customers local items, including bagels from Shug’s Bagels and pastries from La Casita Bakeshop.

“We’re bringing back a local, neighborhood grocer to McKinney Avenue, in one of the most dynamic areas in Dallas,” said Zac Porter, founder of Berkley’s Market.

Berkley’s Market, which operates two other locations in Dallas, recently closed its store in the city’s Oak Cliff neighborhood and on Main Street in the downtown district, consolidating operations to the more central McKinney Avenue location, the retailer said.

“This location is perfect for us—it's on the main thoroughfare, halfway between our other two stores, making it an ideal hub for our operations,” Porter said.

The retailer said other new locations are in the works but no other details have been announced.
