Buc-ee’s to Open First Arkansas Location

The destination retailer will build its new store in Benton, a suburb of Little Rock

Travel center operator Buc-ee’s Ltd. is coming to Benton, Arkansas.

“Yes folks it’s official and we are the proud recipients of Buc-ee's. We are so proud and honored that they picked us!! We can’t wait for construction to begin,” a post last Friday on the city’s Facebook page read.

The city noted in the Facebook comments that this location will have 25 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Located 25 miles from the state capital of Little Rock, Benton is a suburb located in Saline County. This will be the first Buc-ee’s in Arkansas. Fans of Buc-ee’s were quick to add their excitement with one user commenting that “this will be great for Saline County and will provide a lot of jobs for people.”

CSP reached out to Buc-ee’s for additional information, but the retailer declined comment. 

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-Arkansas) weighed in on the arrival of Buc-ee’s coming  to the Natural State with a video played at the beginning of the 2024 Salt Bowl, according to local media outlet KNWA Fox24, which reported that “officials said the planned Benton Buc-ee’s Travel Center is set to tie for their largest location ever built with a 75,000-square-foot store, over 100 pumps and 225 jobs.”

“Buc-ee’s is coming to Arkansas, and Saline County, right in the heart of our state, will be its home,” Sanders said in the video.

Founded in 1982, Lake Jackson, Texas-based Buc-ee’s now has 35 stores across Texas, including the world’s largest convenience store, as well as 15 locations in other states. Buc-ee’s is known for its large, clean bathrooms, large number of fueling positions, Buc-ee’s apparel and signature food and snacks.
