Buc-ee’s to Open Its First Mississippi Convenience Store on June 9

Mega-convenience-store chain Buc-ee’s Ltd. will open its first Mississippi location on June 9, according to a report from The Advocate.The company broke ground on the 74,000-square-foot travel center, located off I-10 and Menge Avenue in Pass Christian, Mississippi, on Sept. 13, 2023.

Located on the Mississippi Coast, the company’s new store will feature Buc-ee’s traditional offerings, including Texas barbecue and Beaver Nuggets. The location includes 126 gas pumps, 24 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and 165 toilets, the newspaper said.

“Harrison County is a vibrant community with five thriving cities and stunning beaches,” said Stan Beard, director of real estate for Buc-ee’s, in announcing the groundbreaking in 2023. “It's perfectly situated along I-10 between our Texas and Alabama stores, and we can't wait to be the best place to stop on the Mississippi Coast.” 

Mississippi isn’t the only state opening a new store this summer. Buc-ee’s said on its website that it is coming to Brunswick, Georgia, on the southeast coast this summer as well.

Additional store openings, according to the Buc-ee's website, include:

  • Rockingham County, Virginia 2025
  • Boerne, Texas 2026

“Construction is moving right along for the Buc-ee's Rockingham County location that is slated to open on June 30,” an April 3 social media post on the official Facebook page for Rockingham County, Virginia, said. 

  • Buc-ee’s is No. 118 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.

Founded in 1982, Lake Jackson, Texas-based Buc-ee’s is known for its large number of fueling positions, clean bathrooms, food, snacks, apparel and a wide range of other merchandise.
