Buc-ee’s will open its first Ohio travel center on April 6.

The site, located at 8000 State Highway 235 in Huber Heights, will open at 6 a.m. and at noon there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, Buc-ee’s Media Coordinator Crissy Gonzales and Huber Heights Mayor Jeff Gore confirmed to CSP Daily News on Friday. The travel center is near I-70, between Columbus, Ohio, and Indianapolis.

Buc-ee’s broke ground on the new site in August 2024. Buc-ee’s Huber Heights will occupy 74,000 square feet and offer 100 fueling positions and 24 EV charging stations, according to local report at the time of the groundbreaking.

Buc-ee’s signature offerings, including barbeque, fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries will all be available, as well as apparel featuring mascot Bucky the Beaver. Along with the snacks, beverages and meal options, the chain is known for its clean restrooms.

Neither Gonzales nor Gore provided further details on the site.

  • Buc-ee’s is No. 136 on CSP’s 2025 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.

This likely won’t be Buc-ee’s only travel center in the state. On Tuesday, Mansfield, Ohio, Mayor Jodie Perry posted on Facebook that Buc-ee’s filed a petition for annexation for the development of a travel center at the I-71 and Ohio 39 interchange.

“There are still a few steps ahead before everything is official, but this is an important milestone toward putting Mansfield and Richland County on the Buc-ee’s map,” Perry wrote.

Buc-ee's is also planning its Nebraska debut. The company is collaborating with the city of Gretna to open its first location in the state at the southeast corner of I-80 and Highway 31.

Founded in 1982, Lake Jackson, Texas-based Buc-ee’s has more than 50 stores.
