Salt Lake City-based Maverik has named Crystal Maggelet as the company’s new CEO. “As beloved c-store brand Maverik—Adventure’s First Stop approaches the one-year anniversary of the close of its acquisition of Kum & Go this August, Crystal Maggelet has announced her decision to step into the long-term role of CEO and chief adventure guide,” according to a statement Maverik shared with CSP. In her new role the company said she will bring a “renewed focus on people, philanthropy and culture to her leadership of nearly 15,000 team members across the family-owned c-store network, now serving customers at over 830 stores in 20 states from the Midwest to the West Coast and growing.” She succeeds Chuck Maggelet, who retired as CEO and chief adventure guide on May 1.

Mette Uglebjerg has been named senior vice president of global food and marketing for Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., the parent company of the Circle K convenience-store brand. “This is a challenge that is close to my heart and that I will meet with great humility, but also with loads of energy and determination to strengthen our brand further and help make even more great and tasty food accessible to our customers,” Uglebjerg posted on her LinkedIn account. Prior to her new role, Uglebjerg served as interim senior vice president, of operations. She joined Laval, Quebec-based Couche-Tard in June 2012 when it acquired Statoil Fuel & Retail ASA. Uglebjerg holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and marketing from CBS, Copenhagen Business School, and is also certified in board leadership from CBS Executive, according to the company’s website.

Travel center network PilotKnoxville, Tennessee, has just launched a new ad campaign, "See You Out Here" led by the company’s first chief marketing officer, Adrienne Ingoldt. In her new role, Ingoldt, will lead the effort to make Pilot an “iconic brand and the travel center of choice for all who love the open road,” the company said. “Everyone who’s ever hand-surfed out the window or belted out an epic car power ballad knows the middle of nowhere can be the greatest somewhere,” said Ingoldt. She has previously worked with brands such as Jack in Box, Adidas, Asics, Infiniti and Ray-Ban, among others. Ingoldt earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University.

Louisville, Kentucky-based Hilco Sweets has named Emily Edmondson as executive vice president for the company. “Emily is an industry expert with an outstanding reputation, customer knowledge and trade knowledge,” said Lou DiMarco, president of Hilco Sweets.  “With a deep understanding of market dynamics across diverse sectors, Emily brings a unique blend of experience, innovative mindset, and strategic vision to drive success and growth to Hilco.” In her new role, she will be a member of the executive team, managing the company’s key accounts, national sales team and regional sales. Edmondson is a seasoned sales director with more than 15 years of experience. She began her career in the novelty confections space at Galerie.

Alison Ritchie is the new president of the New York Association of Convenience Stores (NYACS), based in Albany, New York. Ritchie joined the NYACS staff in November 2018 as the director of membership and events and has served as director of operations since July 2022. She succeeds Kent Sopris to become NYACS’ fifth President in its 38-year history. NYACS is a statewide organization that seeks to forge a favorable environment for New York State’s diverse community of neighborhood convenience stores. It provides its members with knowledge, a unified voice on legislative and regulatory issues, and ways to share ideas, address common challenges and build relationships.
