ANKENY, Iowa — To support the team members and communities affected by the devastating tornadoes and storms across Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee, Casey’s General Stores Inc. said it is collecting donations for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund at the register via the round-up function in all of its convenience stores in the six states through Dec. 31.

At least 64 people died in Kentucky, with death toll expected to reach 100, and six people died in Illinois after tornadoes tore through areas of several states on Dec. 10.

Casey’s also is donating $10,000 to the American Red Cross and sending a truckload of water to the affected area.

“The devastation, community uprooting and lives lost due to the tornadoes and storms this past weekend is overwhelming and will require an enormous recovery effort,” said Darren Rebelez, president and CEO of Casey’s. “We have team members and neighbors in these areas in need, and we have been working hard to support them. Casey’s is making a $10,000 donation and guests can round up their purchase in our stores in these six states to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief. When you shop at Casey’s, you can help our neighbors recovering from disasters.”

Loretta Graham, a district supervisor for Casey’s. posted the following message on LinkedIn: “I just got back from bringing 2 truckloads of supplies to the Mayfield, Kentucky High School. I am very proud of my family for coming together and contributing diapers, clothes, hygiene products, etc. I am very blessed to be a part of the Casey's family & for this donation. We were able to feed some of the clean-up crew with Casey's donuts & water. This devastation is unfathomable. But the communities from different areas are coming together to help! Thank you & God Bless!!”
