LAVAL, Quebec — Alimentation Couche-Tard and Circle K will eliminate about 90 office positions across its North American locations this spring after conducting a review of the jobs.
“After a long and careful review, we have made the difficult business decision to transition certain accounting processes to a third-party provider that can perform these functions using the latest tools, resources and technology,” the company said in a statement provided to CSP Daily News.
The action was first reported by The Republic newspaper in Columbus, Ind., headquarters of the company’s Midwest business units. The Canada-based convenience retailer’s U.S. market is divided into 14 geographic business units and its Canada market divided into three geographic business units.
The positions will move at end of May 2023, the company said.
“Over the next several months, we are committed to treating the valued team members affected by this decision with the utmost care, respect and gratitude for their dedication and commitment to our business,” it said in its statement. “We will be inviting them to apply for other available roles within our business that might fit with their skillsets and interests, as well as providing outplacement assistance and severance pay to aid them in their career transition.”
The Republic reported that affected workers in Columbus were notified by the company on Oct. 14 that their jobs would be terminated next May.
