CSP’s third-annual Convenience-Store Women’s event kicked off Monday in San Antonio, Texas.

The three-day event brings together a mix of established leaders, rising talent and trusted partners from across the convenience-retail industry.

To create the educational content for the event, CSP works with Leading NOW, an organization that for more than 20 years has been helping to shape the future of workplace dynamics by advocating for women’s advancement and engaging male allies to bring gender balance to leadership.

Conventional advice women receive about their careers does not include The Missing 33% (TM), or the importance of knowing and demonstrating business, strategic and financial acumen, according to Leading NOW.

The CSW conference is the start of a long-term effort to begin a shift toward leadership parity in the convenience-store industry.

Highlights of this year’s agenda include:

  • Industry Connections: Building Strategic Relationships for Long Term Success with Leading NOW CEO Kelly Lockwood Primus (pictured above): Strategic relationships are key to long-term success and building them requires more than exchanging business cards. This interactive session combines facilitated networking breakouts by functional group— such as sales, HR, and finance—with structured exercises to help participants create meaningful connections. Attendees will explore how to find mentors, learn about other companies within their industry and apply the concept of reciprocity to build mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Now & Next: Navigating C-store Evolution with Technomic’s Donna Hood Crecca: Current and developing c-store industry leaders are challenged to get ahead of rapidly evolving consumer demands, tech innovation, expanding foodservice opportunities and regulatory shifts. Join Technomic’s Crecca for a fast-paced pulse check on the current and evolving state of the convenience channel, and what these developments mean for women rising through the ranks.
  • CSW Unscripted:CSP's Abbey Lewis hosts CSW Unscripted, an authentic interview series showcasing the diverse paths of women in the convenience-store industry. This expanded format features three distinct perspectives, each sharing their unfiltered experiences in candid, one-on-one conversations. The participants are Kayla Hall, vice president of human resources at Refuel Operating Co.; Catherine Hart, senior director of retail operations at OXXO USA; and Aisha Jefferson, corporate communications manager at QuikTrip
  • Imposter Syndrome: Imposter syndrome can undermine confidence and limit potential, even for high-performing professionals. This session, led by Primus, begins by unpacking what imposter syndrome is and why it occurs, then quickly shifts to actionable strategies to overcome it.
