Holiday Stationstores Said to Be Acquiring Seven SuperAmerica Stations

Companies won't confirm deal, but Holiday hiring at those locations

ROCHESTER, Minn. -- Holiday Stationstores Inc. may be acquiring seven SuperAmerica convenience stores in Rochester, Minn., in May from Northern Tier Energy, according to a report by The Post-Bulletin.

Holiday is also rumored to be building two additional new stations there to bring its total of Rochester sites to nine, the newspaper said.

Neither company would confirm a deal for the Post-Bulletin. Christine Carnicelli of Ridgefield, Conn.-based Northern Tier told the paper, "As a general policy, we do not comment on our business operations so we would prefer not to provide any details on this matter."

Bloomington, Minn.-based Holiday has filed a permit with the city of Rochester to build a station, said the report, and the company is taking applications for eight Rochester locations. The addresses match the city's seven SuperAmericas and the one active Holiday station, the paper said.

Holiday has more than 300 corporately owned stores and more than 100 franchise stores spread throughout 10 states: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Washington, as well as in Alaska.

Northern Tier Energy LP is an independent downstream energy company with refining, retail and pipeline operations that serves the PADD II region of the United States.
