Inside 7-Eleven’s Lab Store

DALLAS —7-Eleven's new lab store was designed with a unique facade to match the collection of experimental retailing programs offered inside.

A long checkout counter provides multiple cashier positions, while the Laredo Taco Company quick-serve restaurant, the first at a 7-Eleven in Dallas, is set apart and has a separate entrance from the retail area.

A growler station, dubbed Tote’m Craft Beer by 7-Eleven, provides beers and wines on tap.

Dozens of packaged beer and wine options—priced up to $240—help make the lab store a destination for consumers.

A Fast & Fresh cooler is stocked with packaged sandwiches, salads, cut fruit and more.

The Sweet Cold Treats bar offers six flavors of gelato or yogurt and three mixed flavors. Customers can pay for their treats via their cellphones using a barcode Scan & Pay system.

The brightly lit fountain bar features 16 conventional drink flavors in a four-head, LED-screened fountain, three iced tea taps, four organic Slurpee options and nine other Slurpee flavors.

Candy and snack endcaps colorfully entice customers to the center store aisles.

Bulk coffee and tea dispensers lend an air of freshness to the product mix.

A 7-foot makeup section features Maybelline products as well as 7-Eleven’s own Simply Me Beauty brand.

A 10-head tap allows for fresh-poured kombucha, cold-brew coffee and iced teas. The full-service drink menu includes espresso drinks, cold brew, smoothies and other specialty drinks.

Laredo Taco Company serves a variety of Tex-Mex menu items. Marketing around the store highlights the tortillas made fresh on-site.
