It’s six straight titles for Kwik Trip.

The La Crosse, Wisconsin-based family-owned convenience-store chain once again has been named the best gas station brand in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

“Their bakeries make more than two dozen types of items each day, and all milk is sourced from dairy farms within a 100-mile radius of La Crosse, Wisconsin,” USA Today wrote this week.

The 2025 winners of the best gas station brand are:

  1. Kwik Trip, La Crosse, Wisconsin (No. 11 on CSP’s 2025 Top 40 Update to the 2024 Top 202)
  2. Casey’s General Stores, Ankeny, Iowa (No. 3
  3. Hy-Vee, West Des Moines, Iowa (No. 43 on CSP's 2024 Top 202 ranking)
  4. Royal Farms, Baltimore (No. 30)
  5. QuikTrip, Tulsa, Oklahoma (No. 9)
  6. RaceTrac, Atlanta (No. 17)
  7. Maverik, Salt Lake City (No.12)
  8. Rutter’s, York, Pennsylvania (No. 78)
  9. Allsup’s/Yesway, Fort Worth, Texas (No. 19)
  10. Love’s Travel Stops, Oklahoma City (No. 15)

Eight of last year’s 10 winners are on this year’s list. New this year are Allsup’s/Yesway and Love’s. Buc-ee’s, Lake Jackson, Texas, and TravelCenters of America, Westlake, Ohio, fell off the list.

A USA Today panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to select the initial nominees, and readers determined the top 10 winners by popular vote.

Kwik Trip, which is planning its first North Dakota locations in late 2025, has nearly 900 locations and is one of the biggest independently held c-store chains in the country. It has locations in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin under the Kwik Trip banner and stores in Illinois, Iowa and South Dakota under the Kwik Star name. Kwik Trip produces more than 80% of the products sold in its stores, supplied by its own bakery, commissary, dairy and distribution center.

10Best Readers’ Choice Awards highlight the best in contests covering categories such as destinations, food and drink, hotels and things to do. A panel of experts chooses the nominees in all categories, and readers can vote once per category, per day for four weeks.
