Love’s Connects in Connecticut

Retailer opens its 1st travel stop in the Constitution State

WILLINGTON, Conn. — Joining other companies that recently have entered new states or markets, Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. is now serving customers in Willington, Conn., at a new travel stop that opened July 28, the company’s first in the Constitution State. Love’s, with more than 590 locations, is now in 42 states.

The more than 8,000-square-foot store, off Interstate 84 at Exit 71, adds 50 jobs to Tolland County.

“Opening our first location in Connecticut reaffirms Love’s commitment to providing quality products and services that are easy to access for customers across the U.S.,” said Greg Love, co-CEO of Love’s. “Love’s will continue to add new locations, ensuring that travelers have a safe, clean and well-maintained place to stop when they see the Heart of the Highway.”

The site offers seven diesel bays, 56 truck parking spaces, 50 car parking spaces and three RV parking spaces, as well as a CAT scale and a dog park. The location is open 24/7 and features Godfather’s Pizza and Subway restaurants, and the chain’s propriety Fresh Kitchen foodservice concept and bean-to-cup coffee. It also has three showers and a Mobile to Go Zone selling GPS, headsets and smartphone accessories.

In honor of the grand opening, Love’s will donate $2,000 to­­­ Willington Public Schools.
