Steve Rupe (pictured below left) is the new chief financial officer at convenience-store chain Maverik, a position he had held in an interim role since April 2025, according to a LinkedIn post.
In addition, Brad Giles (pictured below right) has joined the Salt Lake City-based company as vice president of store development, he said in a LinkedIn post.
Both moves took place in March.
Prior to the interim role, Rupe was vice president of finance and accounting at Maverik from February to April 2025, according to his LinkedIn page. He was controller from November 2019 to February 2025. He joined Maverik as director of accounting in June 2015, a role he held until November 2019.

Giles comes to Maverik after 11 years at Savory Fund, Lehi, Utah, a private equity firm that operates restaurants. His most recent role there was vice president - real estate Savory management, according to his LinkedIn page. He was involved in real estate acquisition and disposition for all Savory-owned brands.
At Maverik, which acquired Kum & Go in 2023, Giles will develop and oversee new store development, from long-term vision and strategy to market and site selection, design, entitlements, construction and operational handoff, he said in the LinkedIn post announcing his joining the company.

“I’ll own and optimize large annual capital budgets, ensure predicted store count delivery and value creation, and help the team meet financial and time budgets and per-store ROI targets,” Giles said.
In the post, he added, “Maverik has built an incredibly strong reputation for growth and innovation and I’m eager to contribute to this exciting next chapter. I look forward to working with teams across the company to support store development, bring new Maverik locations to more communities and optimize our portfolio of existing stores.”
Other recent moves at Maverik include hiring Jaclyn Avrit as its chief of staff late last year and hiring payments and fuel-industry veteran Meghann Erhart as chief commercial officer earlier this year.
The Maverik brand targets adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts by establishing itself as a “base camp” to fuel up for activities such as off-roading, biking, canoeing and mountain climbing while reflecting the natural beauty of the local communities’ favorite outdoor adventures in the stores’ design and incorporating them into the stores’ concept and decor.
