Parker’s Hires Loyalty, Marketing and Talent Acquisition Leaders

Retailer brings new executives on board to support expansion efforts

Convenience-store retailer Parker’s Corp. has hired three new team members to support the company’s growth and expansion across coastal Georgia and South Carolina through enhanced marketing efforts, loyalty program management and talent acquisition.

Savannah, Georgia-based Parker’s owns and operates approximately 70 c-stores throughout coastal Georgia and South Carolina and launched a $50 million expansion into the Charleston, South Carolina, market and beyond in 2019.

The new hires at Parker’s include:

  • Nick Hand. Serving as the loyalty and brand manager, Nick Hand (left) designs and executes marketing campaigns that drive brand engagement, increase Parker’s Rewards loyalty program enrollment and create personalized customer journeys. Experienced in the food and beverage industry, he is the former digital marketing manager for Tijuana Flats Restaurants, where he managed all digital aspects for more than 125 locations across four states. Newsweek named Tijuana Flats’ Rewards Program, under Hand’s leadership, as the No. 6 Loyalty Program in America in 2021. He brings more than a decade of experience in graphic design, web design, search engine optimization, digital marketing and brand loyalty management to his position at Parker’s. Earlier in his career, he served as the director of digital marketing and technologies for 727 Digital, digital content and SEO developer for AAA National and as a senior web designer and UX developer for GeoNorth.
  • Miranda Hendricks. Serving as the new marketing manager at Parker’s, Miranda Hendricks (center) oversees Parker’s website, print and digital media platforms and creates video content that represents the company’s brand and mission. A communications specialist, Hendricks brings five years of nonprofit and business-to-consumer experience to her new position. Before joining Parker’s, Hendricks served as a content marketing assistant for Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Georgia, where she crafted content for websites, brochures, press releases, email campaigns, advertisements and social media. She also founded her own graphic design company, Mevelyn Designs, and served as a graphic designer for 50/50 Women on Boards and StartChurch. Her experience combines copywriting, graphic design, web design, social media management, marketing strategy and branding.
  • Vanessa Lehnen. Serving as leader of talent acquisition, Vanessa Lehnen (right) is a human resources business partner responsible for Parker’s recruiting strategies, and she oversees the recruiting team. She is a liaison and advisor to the company’s leadership team and implements talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion initiatives as well as culture and engagement strategies that attract best-in-class associates, increase organizational effectiveness and leverage competitive advantage to accelerate growth. Prior to joining Parker’s, Lehnen served as the talent acquisition business partner for Goodwill Southeast Georgia; worked at CitiTrends recruiting department in Savannah; and served as a diversity specialist and recruiter for ATL Search Group in Atlanta.

Parker’s employs more than 1,200 individuals and completes more than 125,000 transactions daily. The chain serves Southern-inspired Parker’s Kitchen food made from scratch on-site including hand-breaded Southern fried chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, a breakfast bar and daily specials. The Parker’s Rewards loyalty program, which includes more than 300,000 members, has saved Parker’s customers more than $15 million to date, according to the company. Parker’s is No. 99on CSP’s 2021 Top 202 ranking of c-store chains by store count.
