Parker’s Hires New Director of Personnel

Industry veteran previously was with Enmarket, Hess, Murphy USA and Sunoco

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Parker’s has hired convenience-store operations veteran Dave Meloni as the company’s new director of personnel development, overseeing the recruitment, training, retention and succession planning of nearly 1,000 employees at the Parker’s chain of 57 c-stores in Georgia and South Carolina.

  • Parker’s is No. 129 in CSP’s2018 Top 202 ranking of c-store chains by number of retail locations.

In his new position, Meloni is responsible for establishing a culture of “outstanding customer satisfaction,” encouraging customer loyalty and creating an “exceptional work environment with performance-based opportunities for career advancement,” the company said.

“Dave is a leader in the convenience-store industry with a remarkable talent for training employees to exceed customer expectations,” said Greg Parker, Parker’s founder and CEO. “He’s a strong addition to our team and a tremendous asset to our overall work culture at Parker’s.”

Before joining Parker’s, Meloni was the director of operations for Enmarket, a chain of nearly 90 c-stores also based in Savannah, where he led the company’s district managers for five years and was instrumental in hiring, training, development and retention of employees.

Meloni began his career at Hess Corp., Woodbridge, N.J., where he successfully implemented a college recruiting program. Over the years, he has also been division director for Murphy USA gas stations and convenience stores; director of business development for First General in Runnemede, N.J.; vice president of operations for R Group, dba Dunkin' Donuts, in Cherry Hill, N.J.; and division marketing manager for Sunoco gas stations.

Parker’s also recently hired Corey McClimans as the company’s new chief human resources officer, a newly created position.

Founded in 1976, Parker’s is known for its Parker’s Rewards program, which includes more than 150,000 members.
