QuikTrip Corp. has opened a new convenience store in Clinton, Mississippi, its first in the Magnolia State. The retailer has plans to continue expanding throughout the state, with an additional five new Remote Store Network locations scheduled to open this year.

QuikTrip greeted customers at the new store on the opening day of business, March 23.

“We are excited to introduce our QuikTrip Remote Store in Clinton. We look forward to introducing our unique QuikTrip brand and culture to our new community,” said Aisha Jefferson-Smith, QuikTrip’s corporate communications manager. “The store allows us to not only create meaningful connections with our new local customers in Clinton, but also serve travelers in this busy part of the country.”

Remote Store Network sites feature a larger lot and a more spacious store than a traditional QuikTrip store. The travel center has room to service 20 cars for gasoline and six diesel bays for trucks. The company created the new store model for highly traveled areas of the country that are also within reasonable proximity to a QuikTrip Distribution Center for access to fresh food.

The store offers a full-service kitchen with fresh, made-to-order ‘snackles,’ as well as fresh food delivered daily through the chain’s bakeries and commissaries.

The Clinton Travel Center also features an expanded QT Kitchens location, offering fresh, made-to-order food, premium specialty drinks and tasty frozen treats. QT Kitchens customer favorites include warm, soft pretzels, extra-large pizzas, custom breakfast tacos, hardwood smoked BBQ sandwiches, cold brew coffee and frozen treats such as QuikShakes.

The company plans to build more travel centers across the country, including more Mississippi locations in Flowood, Jackson, Byram, Olive Branch and Gulfport by the end of this year, it said.

QuikTrip is a privately held company based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Founded in 1958, the chain has grown to a more than $11 billion company with more than 900 stores in 17 states.
