RaceTrac Inc. has hired Jill Pemberton as its chief financial officer, the company announced Monday. Pemberton (pictured below) will lead financial strategy and growth for RaceTrac Inc. and its family of brands, which include the RaceTrac and RaceWay convenience stores, Energy Dispatch, Gulf and Potbelly.

Pemberton succeeds Karla Ahlert, who served as the CFO from 2020 until this year. Ahlert was recently named the company’s first chief administrative officer, a new senior leadership role overseeing shared services including human resources, supply chain, special projects and procurement, RaceTrac Inc. said.

  • RaceTrac is No. 18 on CSP’s 2026 Top 202 ranking of convenience-store chains by U.S. store count.

Pemberton most recently served as CFO at luxury goods company LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, overseeing the company’s $20 billion North America region.

“Jill’s extensive experience in financial strategy, long-range planning, business transformation, mergers and acquisitions and operational excellence is a perfect complement to our growth strategy,” said Natalie Morhous, CEO of Atlanta-based RaceTrac Inc. “She is a collaborative, people-focused leader who is passionate about developing talent and building high-performing teams. Those qualities align closely with our culture and values, making her a strong fit for this role.”

Pemberton has also worked in senior finance roles at Viacom, Johnson & Johnson, H.J. Heinz and Delta Air Lines. She sits on the board of directors of The Toro Co.

Pemberton will report directly to Morhous and will lead RaceTrac Inc.’s accounting, finance, tax and treasury teams.

RaceTrac has more than 850 RaceTrac and RaceWay convenience stores, about 1,200 Gulf-branded locations and more than 445 Potbelly sandwich shops throughout the United States.
