RaceTrac’s first North Carolina convenience store is opening on Tuesday in Monroe. The new store is located along the U.S. Route 74 corridor connecting to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Atlanta-based RaceTrac has also recently expanded into Indiana, Ohio and South Carolina

It will hold a grand opening for its Monroe store starting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday with a ribbon cutting. The first 100 customers who line up at the RaceTrac tent will each receive a $20 RaceTrac gift card that can be used at the pump or in the store, located at 4060 W. Highway 74, about 20 miles southeast of Charlotte.

The grand opening celebration will also include food and drink samples and a tuition donation to four students at South Piedmont Community College, RaceTrac said.

The new store features a variety of made-in-store food and beverage options, including hot pizza, chicken tenders, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit cups, a Swirl World frozen yogurt bar and six blends of RaceTrac’s “Crazy Good Coffee.”

The forecourt features a variety of competitively priced fuel options and also serves professional drivers and construction vehicles with lanes of high-flow diesel and diesel exhaust fluid options, RaceTrac said.

Family-owned RaceTrac is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, with more than 800 retail locations serving customers through the RaceTrac and RaceWay brands. The company employs more than 10,000 team members across RaceTrac, RaceWay and affiliated companies Metroplex Energy, Energy Dispatch and Gulf Oil.

There are about 10 RaceWay stores in North Carolina, according to the company’s store locator map. RaceWay operates 241 stores in 11 states in the Southeast.
