CARMEL, Ind. --In Carmel, Ind., Ricker's convenience stores has opened what it said is the flagship location of a new design that will pave the way for future Ricker's c-stores and features a variety of options that consumers do not commonly expected to find at convenience stores.
"This store will serve as the flagship for the Ricker's brand," said the company's president and CEO, Quinn Ricker. "Quality food and drink offerings in convenience stores are the future of our industry."
In addition to its sleek new design, the store features a variety of products that "break the mold" of the typical convenience store. The store offers fresh "bean-to-cup" gourmet coffee, cappuccino, iced coffee and frappés along with several different flavor syrups and creamers. All machines employ reverse-osmosis water filtration. There is also a selection of beer and wine priced lower than most liquor stores.
This location is also home to Ricker's own brand of fast and fresh Mexican cuisine, ¡AhhBurritos!.
"We are proud to offer such a fresh, high-quality and affordable product that is also unique to the Ricker's brand," said Ricker. "We prepare all food items fresh, in-store and made to order. Kiosks are in place to allow each order to be customized to the individual's liking."
Additionally, the new Ricker's c-store is the second to carry its own brand of frozen yogurt, available in a variety of flavors and topping combinations.
Beside the numerous food and drink offerings, the new convenience store still values its gasoline as a high priority, the company said. The new store provides Lucas Oil additives in their premium and diesel fuels to increase power and fuel mileage and lower exhaust emissions.
Ricker's also is planning a second Carmel location, it said.
Based in Anderson, Ind., Ricker's mission is "to be the upscale convenience store of choice in Indiana." It has more than 50 high-end convenience stores, which employ more than 700 Hoosiers. Ricker's stores are known for their "RickerPop" fountain drinks.
