Sheetz is planning to start construction soon on a $145 million food preparation and distribution center in Findlay, Ohio, creating an expected 750 jobs.

The Altoona, Pennsylvania-based convenience-store chain also will build two c-stores in the area, according to Findlay Hancock Economic Development.

“Roadwork to install water and sewer lines is happening now, and it probably won’t be too long before they break ground on the large facility,” said Dan Sheaffer, executive director of Findlay Hancock County Economic Development. “These two convenience store-gas stations are added economic impact of the larger project. They saw Findlay as an attractive place to do business as they expand their footprint into new markets, and we are glad we were able to assist them along with city and county officials.”

The facility, expected to be finished in spring or summer 2026, will be 511,704 square feet and include offices for the company. It will be at the northwest corner of Hancock County roads 212 and 230.

  • Sheetz is No. 13 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.

“We are excited about the new jobs this facility will bring to Findlay and Hancock County,” Sheetz President and CEO Travis Sheetz told WFIN radio. “The support from local, county and state leaders has been instrumental in making this project a reality. As we continue expanding across Ohio and Michigan, Findlay will be a key driver of our growth and future success.”

“This is a tremendous investment to our area that over the next five years is projected to create around 750 well-paying, quality jobs,” said Chris Keller, director of strategic initiatives for Findlay Hancock County Economic Development. “We look forward to watching the new facility come to fruition, and it’s very positive to see them expand their presence through the addition of the convenience store-gas stations, too.”

Sheetz also has begun building a $3.7 million convenience store-restaurant-gas station with a carwash at the northeast corner of North Main Street and County Road 99 scheduled to open late 2025, Findlay Hancock County Economic Development said.

A second location approved in August by the Findlay Planning Commission is near the intersection of Tiffin Avenue and Croy Drive. The proposed 6,132-square-foot facility includes 12 gas pumps.

Established in 1952 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Sheetz operates more than 750 store locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio and North Carolina.
