Sheetz is coming to Indiana. The Altoona, Pennsylvania-based convenience-store chain said Wednesday that it was investing nearly $1 billion in the state, with plans to build 100 stores there over the next decade.

It will open its first stores in Indiana in the greater Indianapolis area next year, Sheetz said. Specific opening dates will be announced as the development process advances, the company said.

The Indiana investment will create more than 3,000 long-term jobs, Sheetz said. To mark its entry into a new state, it donated $25,000 to Special Olympics Indiana.

This move further accelerates Sheetz’s growth across key Midwestern markets, the company said. It first opened in Ohio nearly 30 years ago, and it entered Michigan in 2024. The company expects to open nearly 20 stores in Michigan by the end of 2026.

Sheetz is also planning to open a new food preparation and distribution center in Findlay, Ohio, further supporting its expansion across the Midwest and Indiana.

“Over the past several years, we have received a significant number of inquiries from Indiana residents who want to see Sheetz in their communities,” Sheetz President and CEO Travis Sheetz said. “This momentum has been reinforced by the enthusiastic response to our unique offerings in new Midwest markets. It is an exciting time for Sheetz, and we look forward to giving customers everything they need in one stop, creating quality jobs and being a positive force in the Indiana communities we serve.”

Sheetz said it offers its convenience-store customers a “flavor-packed, restaurant-quality dining experience with mobile pickup lanes, indoor and outdoor seating, robust grocery offerings, spotless touch-free restrooms, free Wi-Fi and air, and a menu of award-winning food—all under one roof.”

Its Made-to-Order menu features Sheetz’s customized specialty drinks and food items, including breakfast all day, subs, sandwiches, pizza, chicken, salads and more.

Sheetz operates more than 830 stores across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland and Michigan. It recently made the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the 11th year in a row
