Convenience-store chain Sheetz has started its annual Sheetz For the Kidz holiday donation campaign. Through December, customers at the 750-plus Sheetz c-stores throughout Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia can support local families in need of clothes, toys and more.
Customers can donate at check-out through donation boxes or by adding donations to their purchase at the point of sale.
Sheetz is No. 13 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.
Sheetz For the Kidz raised more than $1.7 million in 2023 for children in need through in-store fundraising in July and December, Sheetz said. The donations went to 11,500 children within the six states Sheetz was operating in at the time. To date, the charity has helped more than 170,000 children, Sheetz said.
Funds raised during the campaign also sponsor the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions through Make-A-Wish. The charity sponsors one child per Sheetz operating district, totaling 78 children in 2024, Sheetz said.
Sheetz For the Kidz also partners with Feeding America. In 2024, their $728,000 commitment served more than 1.7 million meals through backpack programs, kids cafes, school and mobile pantries and summer feeding programs, according to the retailer.
