Sheetz again made the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list. The convenience-store chain ranked No. 32 on the list, created using Great Place To Work’s Trust Index survey.

This is Sheetz’s 11th consecutive year on the list, and 32nd place is its highest ranking—last year it ranked 40

While Sheetz was the only convenience-store chain on the list, other retailers made the cut including grocers like Rochester, New York-based Wegmans Food Markets Inc. (No. 5), Minneapolis-based Target Corp. (No. 29) and Lakeland, Florida-based Publix Super Markets (No. 50).

Altoona, Pennsylvania-based Sheetz had 90% of its employees say it was a great place to work—that’s compared to 57% at a typical U.S.-based company, according to Great Place To Work. Sheetz has 27,052 U.S.-based employees.

“Being recognized on this list for more than a decade is deeply meaningful and reflects the culture our employees have helped build over time,” said Travis Sheetz, president and CEO of Sheetz. “As a family-owned and operated business, our people are at the heart of what we do in the communities we serve. This recognition reinforces our commitment to support our employees, invest in their growth and ensure they feel valued every day.”

Sheetz said in March it plans to hire 1,540 employees companywide, including 500 in its home state of Pennsylvania.

The company offers competitive pay and benefits packages to all employees, including college tuition reimbursement, an employee stock ownership plan, flexible schedules and quarterly bonuses, Sheetz said.

“Trust in the organization is a leading indicator of business performance,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work. “When employees trust their leaders, they are more willing to give extra effort, embrace innovation like new AI tools and deliver a better experience to customers.”

The 100 Best Companies to Work For list honors companies that build a high-trust workplace environment, measured through Great Place To Work’s proprietary Trust Index survey. The list is determined using confidential feedback from more than 1.3 million employees in the United States and is matched against HR data from participating companies. Of those employees, about 640,000 responses were received from employees at companies who were eligible for the 2026 100 Best and the list is based on their feedback, Great Place To Work said.

Altoona, Pennsylvania-based Sheetz operates more than 800 stores across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
